Cathay Pacific Business Class Bangkok (BKK) to Hong Kong (HKG)

Well it was time to say goodbye to Bangkok and end our two week vacation in Thailand.  We took a cab to the airport and the check in counter had no line so we walked right up. We were checked in quickly and given our lounge passes.

We cleared security and made it to the lounge quickly. The airport wasn’t very busy as we had a very early flight. The lounge was very clearly marked and on our way to the gate. We stopped in the lounge for about 30 minutes and grabbed some dim sum and a beverage. We watched some tv and browsed the newspaper and before you knew it, it was time to go. The lounge wasn’t very big nor was it very crowded. There were about 3 or 4 other people in the lounge so there was plenty of food and seating options.

Our gate for our flight

We ended up having a long walk to our gate and actually passed another Cathay Pacific lounge that looked bigger!! Im not sure what that was all about or if they offered extra amenities or different food? We were fine with the lounge we used however. When we got to our gate it was time for boarding and everyone was already lined up. They did a pre-boarding bag check for every passenger before they entered the plane which is dumb in my opinion if you already clear security.

There is our plane behind the dirty glass

We made it on to the plane and found our seats. After stowing our bags we were offered a tasty glass of fruit juice and hot towel.   The seats were spacious and the cabin was nice. It almost seemed the like cabin was refreshed or it was a newer plane. It was certainly nicer than the Cathay Pacific regional jet we took to Bali Last year.

Our flight path to Hong Kong

Over 1000 miles to Hong Kong

My wife charged her phone and was going through her emails before departing.  I decided to take a peek at the breakfast menu.  We were happy to have the chance to order some of the delicious Hong Kong style milk tea!!!! We both had two cups of it during our the flight.

After a smooth takeoff and hitting 10,000ft the cabin crew jumped into action to start serving breakfast. The crew was nice, attentive and did a great job overall.  My wife and I both enjoyed our breakfast. I went with the noodles option for breakfast and my wife went with the egg option.  We both enjoyed our food, no complaints!

The IFE had a decent selection however we could only select from the TV shows and music as the movie selections were not selectable. Maybe they figured the flight was too short for a movie?? Although it would have been possible to watch a movie in my opinion.

Views of approaching Hong Kong

A very nice regional business class experience in our eyes and a nice relaxing flight to Hong Kong to start our way home to the U.S.  We both love Cathay!
