Thai Airways 737 Business Class Bangkok to Koh Samui

Our last leg of our journey to Koh Samui was on Thai Airways 737 business class.  This was a very quick flight of about 40 minutes. We arrived at the gate and they were already boarding passengers.

Our gate to Samui

The plane was only 30-40% full and we were two of the three business class passengers. My carryon was slightly too big too fit in the overhead bins however the flight attendants were able to accommodate my bag in the seat in front of us and they secured it with seat belt! I have never seen that and thought it was nice so that my bag didn’t have to be checked.

The plane was an older 737 and the seats were somewhat worn down but for a 40 minute flight it was no biggie. Once everyone was boarded a couple tried to “self upgrade” into business class.  They walked up from economy and then asked the flight attendant if they could sit “up here” since it was empty… ummm….. NO.  lol  She did advise they could pick any other seats in economy if they wanted but they can’t sit in a different cabin.   I would not have minded but the airline of course is going to protect its product in most cases.

After a super quick takeoff roll we were in the air!  At 10,000 feet or shortly after our breakfast came out! More food for us!!  The breakfast for this flight was a fish congee with sides of fruit and croissant.  I was not that hungry so just had a bit of each to sample and that was it.  My wife went ahead and ate all the fish out of the congee and had the fruit and croissant with jam. Service was very professional and prior to takeoff we were offered a hot towel and a beverage. There was a younger Thai woman in row three on the other side of the isle who I noticed cleaned her plate.

We enjoyed some nice views of Thailand while in the air. Its interesting to see the contrast of Bangkok from the sky then just a short while later seeing the beautiful islands of Thailand.

Samui Airport

Samui Airport is amazing! Everything is pretty much open air. Its very small and relaxed! Probably our most favorite airport ever!  I will try to include a more detailed review with additional pictures of the airport in a later segment.  Not much else to say on this flight. Pretty quick and uneventful! We were excited to finally be in Koh Samui!!!!
