French Open Day two

Our second day at the French Open was going to be exciting for me as I was going to get to see Rafa Nadal play on the main court (Phillipe Chatrier) at the French Open!  This is the court in which he has won eight previous championships!! We had good seats again as these were behind the baseline.  Our tickets as I mentioned in the previous installment were ‘category one’ seats and they costed us around $125 per person (which isn’t to bad when you consider you’re going to get to watch four matches).

We thought we might arrive late due to us once again forgetting our tickets at the hotel! However by the time we got there the woman’s match was still going on before the Nadal match so we had plenty of time and decided to grab a quick bite to eat. By the time we got back the Jankovic vs Nara match was just about done.

Gulbis practice

After watching the Nadal match, grabbing some food and watching Gulbis practice for a while we debated going back to our seats to watch part of the Ana Ivanovic match however there was a mens match going on and it was in the 4th set and we didn’t feel like waiting so we ended up leaving early around 4pm.  The entire experience of being at the French Open is something I will always remember!  Even my wife who is not a tennis fan enjoyed her time there.  Seeing Nadal play on Chatrier at the French Open is something I can now check off my “bucket list”. We look forward to going to perhaps visiting all the Grand Slam events in the future using our stockpile of miles and points!!
