Trip Report: Ireland (part 4) Radisson Blu Dublin

Part 4

Radisson Blu Dublin

So for nights two and three in Dublin we stayed at the Radisson Blu Dublin.  This was all part of the master plan for Ireland! Stringing together 2 night stays at Radisson’s around Ireland and taking full advantage of the Club Carlson Credit card!  One of the main features of the card is getting the last night free on award redemptions. So redeem points for one night and get the next night free.

This property is very sleek and modern.  The location is not quite as good as the Westbury but it is not a bad location at all. Very close to St. Patricks Cathedral and 5-10 minute walk to Grafton Street. This is obviously a newer construction property as there is pretty much no wear and tear to be seen. Being Club Carlson gold members (due to having the credit card) we were upgraded to a business class room (#518).

Video walkthrough below (with my iPhone, sorry)

I like that the bathroom had a separate bath and shower.  I didn’t use the bathtub but on occasion I will treat myself to a bath while on vacation (never do that at home).  We also received complimentary breakfast at the property which was generous.  They do not have to provide that as a benefit however they offered it and we took them up on it by trying the buffet which was simply adequate (minus the insects on the pastries).

One day I switched memory cards in the room and when I got home I realized I left it in the room.  Almost a week after checking out I emailed the property to see if it turned up…… sure enough it did! They were happy to report they had it and were happy to mail it back to me. I simply had to pay the postage but that is a small price to pay to have all my pictures back (I do a daily picture dump to a laptop while on vacation so not all would be lost).  All-in-all we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

PointsPinnacle Breakdown

We used 44,000 Club Carlson points for one night and received the 2nd night free as I mentioned earlier. That is the biggest benefit of the Club Carlson card aside from the actual points themselves. Below is a screenshot of my email confirmation detail.

RADSo $0 and 44,000 points for 2 nights!! You have to love miles and points!
