Trip Report: Denver May 3-6 2013 (part 1)
Cinco De Mayo weekend 2013 we decided to visit family in Denver. This was a busy weekend in Denver as not only was it Cinco De Mayo it was also the annual Denver Derby!
We used our Southwest Airlines companion pass for a direct flight Milwaukee to Denver. We burned only 9361 Rapid rewards points and $5.00 per ticket (9/11 security fee) total roundtrip! We flew out Friday night after work and flew back early Monday evening.
Four Seasons Denver
We stayed at the Four Seasons on Friday and Saturday night. On a great rate of $175 per night plus tax (friends and family rate). On Sunday night we were guests at the Aloft Broomfield which is a northwest suburb of Denver. We chose the Aloft since it was closer to family and put me closer in my pursuit of SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) platinum status.
We thought the Four Seasons were wonderful accommodations! The soft and hard product were excellent. We were greeted promptly and our bags handled and brought inside however I decided I would take the bags up to the room since we were traveling light on this trip. The front desk personnel were friendly and informative and presented our room key (pictured above) for room 1201 which is a premier corner room.
I would most certainly return the Four Seasons without hesitation. The corner room is nice allowing for a more expansive view! On Saturday morning I enjoyed a nice bath in the soaking tub. The tub was very nice and was able to handle me with plenty room to spare. I typically don’t take a bath but sometimes after a hard night of drinking, the tub with some warm bubbles, a cold wash cloth on the forehead and the built-in TV will do the trick. I had no complaints at all with this property and it pretty much ticked all the boxes for us. The drinks and food were good, the location was good, the bathroom was awesome. Simply a great city hotel. Are there better city hotels? Sure. Are there better city hotels in Denver? I doubt it!
I used the workout facilities on Sunday morning for a good hour or so and they had a very nice selection of machines and free weights. The Four Seasons residence owners and hotel guests share access to this gym thus making it larger was a good idea. The view outside gym leads to the outdoor pool and bar area which was closed in early May due to weather but the hot tub was full!
All in all a great stay and looking forward to trying it again!
